Traditional Indonesian architecture has long been admired for its use of natural materials and its close connection to the surrounding environment. In Tegallalang, a scenic area about twenty minutes north of Ubud, a new villa resort is currently under development that embraces these architectural traditions while offering modern comfort.
In this listing, we introduce the Luna villa type.
This off-plan villa in Tegallalang, Bali reflects a more traditional architectural approach, combined with a relaxed bohemian atmosphere. Natural materials, particularly wood, play a central role in the design, while the distinctive roof structure gives the villa a recognizable and timeless character.
The entrance leads into a bright, open living space with a connected kitchen, designed to maximize airflow and daylight. Large doors can be opened fully, creating a seamless transition between the indoor area, the terrace, and the surrounding tropical landscape—an essential feature of comfortable living in Bali.
The layout includes two bedrooms, with one located on the ground floor and the other on the upper level. Both bedrooms share a bathroom on the ground floor, positioned for practical access. The upper bedroom benefits from additional privacy and views over the greenery, while the open structure contributes to an airy and spacious feel.
The outdoor area includes a terrace with a private plunge pool, offering a quiet place to unwind in the tropical climate. With its balanced layout and traditional design elements, Luna Villa is a suitable option for investment, a holiday retreat, or private living in Tegallalang.
The project is being developed by a Dutch property developer with experience in international real estate developments. For this project approximately 40 hectares of land are available. However, only around 10 hectares will be used for construction while the majority of the land will remain green.
This approach ensures that the villas are surrounded by nature and that the natural character of the area is preserved.
The development will take place in several phases. Phase 1 has already sold out and construction is well underway as of March 2026. Phase 2 is currently available and a large portion of the villas have already been reserved.
Each phase will feature seven to eight different villa types, ensuring a diverse architectural landscape rather than a uniform development.
The villas are designed using traditional Indonesian elements such as bamboo structures, alang-alang roofing and teak wood details. These natural materials create a warm and authentic atmosphere that blends perfectly with the surrounding environment.
Large open living areas and natural ventilation ensure that the villas remain comfortable while allowing residents to enjoy the surrounding nature.
The resort will also include a variety of facilities such as swimming pools, restaurants, co-working spaces, fitness facilities and a yoga pavilion. In a quieter part of the property a spa and massage area will be developed.
The Tegallalang region offers panoramic views across rice fields, jungle valleys and the mountains of Bali including Mount Agung. Two waterfalls are located within walking distance of the resort.
Owners may choose to live in their villa permanently or use it as a holiday residence. When not in use, the resort management can arrange rentals and property management.
For buyers who appreciate traditional Indonesian design combined with modern comfort near Ubud, this project offers an exceptional opportunity.
